Drama and Performing Arts gives students the chance to express themselves creatively, build confidence and explore performance styles and practitioners. Through practical work, rehearsal and reflection, students develop teamwork, communication and imagination. This subject strongly supports our Maximise Your Potential strategy by encouraging students to take creative risks, reflect on their progress and embrace new challenges.
The subject overview breaks down the three components — Exploring the Performing Arts, Developing Skills & Techniques, and Responding to a Brief. It also outlines what is expected in each assessment and how students are supported through rehearsal, research and performance. Parents will find guidance on how to help with practice, theatre experiences and reflective preparation for both practical and written tasks.
